A fost numit de Tiesto ''cel mai fierbinte si incitant producator al anului 2008'' si de catre DJ Magazine, ca fiind ''urmatorul mare lucru care va soca lumea trance-ului''... Unul dintre producatorii favoriti ai anului 2008 pentru Armin van Buuren si ''The New Trance Guys'' in opinia lui Ferry Corsten. A castigat premiul 'The Best New Face' in cadrul Trance Awards 2008 @ Ministry Of Sound din Londra si a trecut pe la unele dintre cele mai faimoase evenimente, precum: Trance Energy, Gatecrasher si Godskitchen. Ca parte din line-up-urile de la Cream@Amnesia din Ibiza si cu agenda 'The Riel Deal', anul 2009 este foarte incarcat pentru artistul nostru. Acum cativa ani nu avea nici o bucata dintr-un echipament de studio...Acum este cotat favorit pentru a deveni urmatorul breakout al muzicii dance electronice....Acesta este Sied van Riel.

1.Sied, you have been called by Tiesto'' the hottest producer of 2008'', DJ Magazine considers you ''the next big thing that will shock the world of trance'', in view of Ferry Corsten you are ''The New Trance Guy'' and i think you have so much melody and force, both in your productions as sets...that I ask you..really are you ready to handle the storm that you will trigger?

Haha, I don't know if I will trigger a storm. I just do whatever I want to do and so far it's been going really great ! It's cool people or media say such things about you, but I won't let it get to me.

2.We are not far from the results of the DJ Mag Top 100, where you entered at #85. Congratulations!! How do you feel? What do you think about this?

Thank you !! And it feels really cool I will tell you that. It's awesome to see that people appreciate the "work" we do !

3. In August 2009 you released your first mix compilation ''In Riel Time'', which proves that you are an excellent and a real dj. In my opinion it's the best and the explosive compilation of this year. Tell me..What makes it so different? How long did you worked on it?

Which was the spark and the inspiration for this treasure? It has always been a dream of me to have an own mix compilation out there. It's something I just wanted to do. In Riel Time is something I want to work on for the long term and so far Volume 1 is doing really really really well. If I'm not mistaking it was or is sold out at the moment so all the more reasons to be happy for me :)

4. How did you discover electronic music? And what led you to produce this music?

I discovered it trough my next door neighbours when I was about 12... And producing is something that I always wanted to do, but never took a shot at it untill about 3,5 4 years ago. It's part of the package now a days. Ferry, Tiesto, Armin, Sasha, PvD etc made me want to start getting in to trance music in the late 90s.

5. Sied, you came in to the electronic music scene in 2006 with your track ''Fearless'', you have appointed ''best new comer'' in 2008 and become ''the new trance story'' in 2009, and right now your debut in DJ Mag Top 100..Where are you heading man? What is your secret? What makes you so good? How do you work for this? How did you get to this level so quickly?

Well I do not consider myself as being that good, I just do whatever I want to do and like I said so far it's going really well. I have luck on my side, I have the right people around me and we all work very hard. At this stage I am taking my production quality to the next level because I always want to improve myself. We shall see where it leads us in 2010. It all went fast now I think of it yeah.

6. Describe your music and your unique sound. How did you realize that? What tools and programs do you use?

Some describe my music as deep dark driving percussive progressive melodically fuelled Trance. I use outboard gear such as the Virus TI, Nordlead X2, Waldorf Blowfeld, at this point and some vst plugins. Cubase SX 5 is the program I use for productions. Works for me !

7. Sied , tell me about your collaboration, your project Simadith Project (Sied van Riel , Marius Andresen and Dimitri de Wit)?

This was just a track we made to promote an event in Norway. I was in the studio in my house with Marius, Dimitri and Therese and we just started to play around. I am no longer part of Simadith project because for me it was a one time thing just for fun and we had fun making it !

8. What are you working now? Is it true you that you plan to release an album? Talk about it.

Yeah. I am working on my album now and it will probably be released mid 2010. It's going to be a very interesting album that is for sure as I will feature various styles of mine. !! Excited !!!

9. We approach to the end of a tumultuous and tempetuous year..Who do you think has done the best job this year? Producer, i
mean What trance track impressed you?

Jan Oostdyk has impressed me with his "Eivissa Eivissa" and Out of The Box. I think he's a breath of fresh air ! Also Jordan Suckley has pushed out some proper floorfillers the past months. And Van Doorn never fails to deliver as well !!

10. Wow! Sied ..! You are full of tattoos! How many? What do they mean?

I think I have abuot 25 or 26.. they all have personal meanings to me :)

11. You are a great producer, remixer and dj! You must be very busy with all this! What does a normal day in your life look like? Do you have time to relax? What do you like to do in those moments?

I do not have much time to relax, but when I do I watch dvd's or take my dogs out for a walk in the park to really relax. I play bowling once a week if I am home to socialize and that's pretty much it. A normal for me is.. waking up at 8am or 9am.. take a shower, get coffee and walk my dogs.. then in to the studio untill 11pm at night. Everyday unless I have to travell for gigs.

Haha, nu stiu daca voi declansa o furtuna. Fac doar ce imi place si pana in prezent este intr-adevar minunat! E cool cand lumea si mass-media spun despre tine astfel de lucruri, dar nu voi lasa sa ''ajunga'' la mine.

2. Nu suntem departe de rezultatele din DJ Mag Top 100, unde ai debutat pe pozitia 85. Felicitari! Cum te simti? Ce crezi despre asta?

Multumesc!! Si iti spun ca ma simt intr-adevar minunat. Este extraordinar sa vezi ca oamenii iti apreciaza ''munca'' pe care o faci !

3. In august 2009 ai lansat prima ta compilatie mix ''In Riel Time'', care demonstreaza ca esti un excelent si adevarat dj. In opinia mea, este cea mai tare si mai exploziva compilatie a anului. Spune-mi... Ce o face atat de diferita? Cat timp ai lucrat la ea? Care a fost scanteia si sursa de inspiratie pentru aceasta comoara?

Acesta a fost intotdeauna visul meu sa lansez propria compilatie mix. este ceva ce mi-am dorit sa fac. ''In Riel Time'' este ceva la care mi-am dorit sa lucrez de mult timp si in prezent Volume 1 a iesit foarte bine. Daca nu gresesc, s-au vandut toate exemplarele pana in momentul de fata, deci am toate motivele ca sa fiu fericit :)

4. Cum ai descoperit muzica electronica? Si ce te-a determinat sa te apuci de productie?

Am descoperit-o prin vecinii mei de alaturi, cand aveam 12 ani... Si productia este ceva ce mi-am dorit mereu, dar de care m-am apucat doar de 3,5 - 4 ani. Este ceea ce fac si astazi. Ferry, Tiesto, Armin, Sasha, PvD etc m-au facut sa-mi doresc sa iau startul in muzica trance la sfarsitul anilor 90.

5. Sied, ai intrat pe scena muzicii electronice in 2006 cu track-ul tau 'Fearless', ai fost numit ''best new comer'' in 2008 si ai devenit ''the new trance story'' in 2009, iar acum ai debutat in DJ Mag top 100 pe pozitia 85. Unde te grabesti, omule? Care este secretul tau? Ce te face atat de bun? Cat muncesti pentru asta? Cum ai ajuns la acest nivel atat de rapid?

Ei bine, eu nu ma consider ca fiind atat de bun, eu fac doar ce imi doresc si, asa cum am mai spus, in prezent asa e foarte bine. Am norocul de partea mea, am pe langa mine oamenii de care am nevoie si lucram foarte mult. In aceast etapa reusesc sa duc calitatea productiilor mele la nivelul urmator, pentru ca mereu imi doresc sa progresez. Sa vedem ce ne aduce anul 2010. Totul a mers repede, m-am gandit la asta.

6. Descrie muzica ta si sound-ul tau unic. Cum realizezi asta? Ce echipamente si programe folosesti?

Unii descriu muzica mea ca fiind profund misterioasa condusa de percutie progressive melodic plina de trance. Folosesc sintetizatoare, precum: Virus IT, Nordlead X2, Waldorf Blowfeld, in acest moment si niste VST-uri. Cubase SX5 este un program, pe care-l folosesc pentru productii. Merge pentru mine!

7. Sied, spune-mi despre colaborarea ta, proiectul tau Simadith Project (Sied van Riel, Marius Andresen si Dimitri de Wit)

A fost doar un track pe care l-am facut pentru a promova un eveniment in Norvegia. Eram in studio la mine acasa cu Marius, Dimitri si Therese si ne-am apucat de treaba. Nu mai fac parte din Simadith Project pentru ca pentru mine a fost doar o distractie si chiar ne-am distrat!

8. La ce lucrezi acum? Este adevarat ca planuiesti lansarea unui album? Vorbeste despre asta.

Da. Acum lucrez la albumul meu, care va fi lansat la mijlocul lui 2010, probabil. Va fi un album foarte interesant, cu siguranta, caracterizat de diferite stiluri ale mele!! Emotionat!

9. Ne apropiem de sfarsitul unui an tumultuos si furtunos... Cine crezi ca si-a facut treaba cel mai bine? Producator, adica ce track-uri te-au impresionat?

Jan Oostdyk m-a impresionat cu ''Eivissa Eivissa'' si ''Out Of The Box''. Cred ca a adus ceva nou. De asemenea, Jordan Suckley a adus niste piese grozave in ultimele luni. Si Sander van Doorn nu ne dezamageste niciodata, de asemenea!!

10. Wow! Sied...! Esti plin de tatuaje! Cate sunt? Ce inseamna acestea?

Cred ca sunt cam 25 sau 26... ele au semnificatii personale pentru mine :)

11. Esti un mare producator, remixer si dj! Trebuie sa fii foarte ocupat cu toate astea! Cum arata o zi normala din viata ta? Mai ai timp sa te relaxezi? Ce iti place sa faci in astfel de momente?

Nu prea am timp sa ma relaxez, dar cand o fac ma uit la DVD sau ies cu cainele la o plimbare prin parc, asta ma relaxeaza, intr-adevar. Joc bowling o data pe saptamana daca sunt acasa pentru a socializa si asta e destul de mult. O zi normala pentru mine este... trezirea la 8 sau 9 am.. fac un dus, imi beau cafeaua si imi plimb cainele.. apoi, in studio, pana la 11 noaptea. In fiecare zi, cu exceptia zilelor in care calatoresc pentru show-uri.

12. Si acum un mesaj pentru trancearena.ro si fanii tai?
