Timp de sapte ani a lansat cateva club hituri sub diferite alias-uri si in cadrul unor colaborari.

4 String vs. Shaine - 'The Way It Should Be', Georgia vs. Stimulator - 'We Rise', Georgia - 'Ode To 99' si Vimana - 'We Came 2008 Remix' sunt cateva coproductii, care au primit un sprijin masiv din partea marilor dj, precum: Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Sean Tyas, John O' Callaghan si multi altii. De ceva vreme, Jan Oostdyk produce doar sub acest nume: 'Out Of The Box', 'The Beginning' si 'Eivissa Eivissa'.

Hi, Jan how are you? We're glad to have you among us ... community trance from Romania, which tried to enlarge by our site trancearena.ro! Which are the news from you? Say hi to your fans from trancearena.ro... a little introduction about yourself and your updates....

Hi Romanian trance lovers! I’m doing great at the moment. My track ‘Eivissa Eivissa’ got a lot of attention lately and I’m very pleased to find out that many people like the track so much. Because let’s face it, what would be the use of making music in the first place if no one listens to it? In the upcoming months you can expect new tracks from me, one solo track as a follow up for ‘Eivissa Eivissa’ and several collaborations. Besides that I did a collaboration with Panida from Thailand (via Skype) on a remix for ‘RTFM’, by Misja Helsloot vs Signum. This one has already been played by Ferry Corsten and Leon Bolier and will be in promotion very soon. So far it seems the crowd likes the sound of it, so let’s hope many can enjoy this one!

Now...from present...congratulations for your excelent track ''Eivissa Eivissa''. This track is support by great djs , like Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Ernesto vs Bastian, Joop, Gareth Emery and many other. You hit the crowds with this masterpiece and i think your succes does not stop here. Tell me... what was in your mind when you created 'Eivissa Eivissa'? What can feel a man who create such a marvel and amazing single? What was your inspiration?

Well thank you very much for that! As everybody knows Ibiza is thé dance capital of the world and the name is locally pronounced as Eivissa. After a couple of months of very hard work I went there for a holiday last summer, just to enjoy the island and its view. You should really see that beautiful sunset, which inspired me to write ‘Eivissa Eivissa’.

And now as a fad for me, what was the inspiration of 'Ode to 99', created with your project, called Georgia? This track is unic for me...congratulations for this ! I love it...not just for me, for many remains unforgettable!

I did ‘Ode To ‘99’ as a collaboration and we wanted to bring back the old trance feeling, the way trance started in the first place, but with the modern quality sound! And as far as I understood, we succeeded in that! The melody of ‘Ode To ‘99’ is actually an older melody which I wrote many years before, it was just waiting for the right moment to get its sound!

I think what ferry takes around him in his compilations, in his live sets, in his touring is a real treasure ! You're one of them! What makes you so good? How do you do for this? What is your secret? I know...:))..secrets are secrets! The secrets not reveal ! But even some tips to those who want to get like you.

Well actually that secret isn’t really much of a secret. I’ve gained a lot of experience with producing so maybe that’s not very fair, but most important (and that’s what I think it’s all about) is the talent to put the right feeling into chords and notes is a talent which no one can learn. I also think that every trance track should tell a story, and I think that’s very important in my own tracks. Maybe I should put it like this: I try to make music that I like to hear when I’m in the crowd on a trance event!

Who has influenced your musical career the most? ( a piece, an album anything else?) ;)

Actually I first started making music when I heard the ‘Out Of The Blue’ album by System F, which really introduced me to trance music at its most melodic! Besides that I love the old sound of Ron van den Beuken, which totally introduced me to the power of trance. I think people can hear that in my tracks, the combination of beautiful trance melodies and raw floor blazing power!

After almost 13 years of piano, (congratulations for that) how you get to electronic music ? How did that happen?

Like everyone who is or has been a teenager knows, it’s not very cool to be into Jazz or Classical Music. Trance music provided an outlet where I could really put my soul in! For me, trance music is the highest quality dance music with real musical ingredients which you have in no other style or genre.

How do you produce your music? What tools or programs?

In my studio everything is done on my computer, no hardware is involved. I have a lot of VST plugins, produce with Cubase 5 running on an 8-core Windows PC with a Lynx Audiocard and quested S-8 monitors.

You plan to mix in front of the crowds? when and where? which is the festival where you want to arrived to performance your sets live?

Of course, otherwise this all wouldn’t make any sense at all. Like everybody knows, music is all over the internet available for free (illegal) downloading so an artist can’t make a living that way. So yes, I’m planning to play for live crowds and pretty soon to be honoust. At the moment me and my management are planning a small Asia tour, starting of in Malaysia. Something I’m really looking forward to :)

Your the basement , the radio show deliveres a great music who deserves to be heard and wich dominated the dance music scene at that time. When this show will be broadcast on the other radio stations? if is true, you may call some oh them?

Yeah, it’s a monthly show and the response so far is very good. It’s actually getting better with each episode and the number of radiostations broadcasting it is still growing. So far we broadcast on Slinky.FM, Puresound, DBS Radio and Trance FM to name a few. For a full list of the radiostations and the times to tune in you can visit my website www.janoostdyk.com

And for those who dont know ...you made a remix for Misja Helsloot vs.Signum - RTFM with your friend from thailanda (called Panida) via Skype...interesting...How do you made it? :))

I had a nice talk with Misja about his album and when I heard the melody of ‘RTFM’ I instantly fell in love with it, so I asked Misja if I could do a remix. Panida is a befriended DJ from Thailand who helped me create the remix when I was talking to her on Skype. I’m not sure but I think that has never been done before.

Currently who is your favorite artist on the scene edm and why?

DJ Joop! I met him a couple of months ago and he seems to be a very big dj, bigger than I expected to be honoust. Lately I’ve seen much of him as an artist and his point of view about music and performing is stunningly good in my opinion. Besides that, Joop is also a guy who can be himself and I like that about famous dj’s.

You going to release any artist album or a compilation album?

At the moment I’m not planning to create an artist album. Reason for that is quite easy, while producing an album you have to work according to a tight time schedule which doesn’t do the music any good. I want my music to be inspirational and truthfully, or else I don’t want to make any music at all. I like the idea of producing a track whenever I feel like it, even if that means I only have one track in a year.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future must be clear by now. I have been working under different names and aliases, all those tracks have done their job in the right way but for some reason collaborations just don’t work out for me. So I decided to do it all myself and that seems to work out fine for me, so I’m going for it! Some good thoughts for readers.

Jan, if you think is anything else to say, please, do it!

Actually something pretty cool just happened, Ferry Corsten named me Breakthrough Artist of 2009 in his DJMag interview for this year. :) Very happy with that as you can imagine! And it seems Sied van Riel was thinking the same thing…Thanks for the interview, cheerios!

Salut, Jan!

De fapt, am inceput sa fac muzica cand am auzit albumul 'Out Of The Blue' - System F, care m-a introdus intr-adevar in in muzica trance care este cea mai melodica!

Cum s-a intamplat?

Ai de gang sa mixezi in fata multimilor?

De fapt, ceva cool tocmai s-a intamplat, Ferry Corsten m-a numit Breakthrough Artist Of 2009 in interviul acordat pentru DJ Mag.
